WIM100 AWARDS IN THE UK

Every 2 years, the WIM100 – “100 Inspiring Global Women in Mining” is awarded in the United Kingdom, which celebrates and highlights the contributions of exceptional and inspiring women who have excelled in the mining industry. In this 2022 edition, WIM UK received more than 915 nominations, from more than 61 countries. The 100 women featured were selected for their inspiring contribution towards a stronger, safer and more sustainable mining industry. This includes making positive and impactful changes, desire to empower others, perseverance in the face of adversity, and the ability to find solutions to challenges. Since the birth of the WIM100 awards, it is the first time that a Central American woman has been recognized among the 100 inspiring global women in mining. ANA GABRIELA JUAREZ

Ana Gabriela Juárez is a Guatemalan professional, who has stood out in the international mining sector in terms of environmental and social management, as well as for her leadership and work in the empowerment of mining women and her educational initiatives. in the Central American region. Ana Gabriela has stood out worldwide, and broken glass ceilings, by being one of the first Central American women and the first Guatemalan to be part of the Board of Directors of an international mining company, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSXV). Ana Gabriela has a bachelor’s degree in natural resource management from the von Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany, a master’s degree in water management from Cranfield University, England, a diploma in financial sustainability from the University of Cambridge, England, and holds a Global ESG Certification and a GCB.D Designation through the Competent Boards of Canada. She has more than 15 years of experience leading environmental projects for the mining and energy sector on more than 4 continents. She is currently the president of the Canadian operations of CTA Consulting and Environmental Technology (www.cta-consultoria.com). CTA is a Guatemalan environmental consulting company that has grown and now operates in more than 19 countries on 4 continents. She is also the founder of Women in Mining Central America, and a non-executive director on the board of Royal Road Minerals (TSXV:RYR).

WOMEN IN MINING CENTROAMÉRICA (WIM CENTROAMÉRICA)

The objective of Women in Mining Central America is to be a resource and generate value for women working in the mining industry, or in areas of influence of mining projects, through initiatives that support them in their development, personal and professional growth, as well as supporting their participation and growth in leadership positions within the sector. We work to generate an impact in communities, host countries and the region with educational initiatives and in this way change the narrative of the sector and raise awareness about the importance of the mining sector in the region. We work to strengthen our alliances to continue developing initiatives of direct benefit to women in mining, as well as youth and children.
